Dr Rob, are you sure it’s not one of the bushes? I had a similar issue on the SC and I replaced the bearing but it didn’t get rid of the drone but then I replaced the top rose and bottom bush and it’s been fine since.

If it's definitely coming from the rear then the only other things are the other bearing, the diff or the driveshafts.

If you can hear it from 10mph though that is odd as unless they were *really* bad I'd not expect to be able to hear them at that speed.

Have you tried draining the rear diff oil to make sure it's not sparkly? Has it got any worse since you posted originally? 2002 4.6 Vogue SE - Alveston Red with Lightstone Leather

Diff drain is next and prop inspection.
What "other" bearing are you referring to?

I read your post and thought you'd only replaced one wheel bearing so wondered if it could be the bearing on the other side.

Was your noise like a wind drone type noise or metallic noise?
