If you had been followed down that road by someone else you may well have been rear ended for braking hard on an otherwise clear road.  Its happened to me on motorways when I'm close to an HGV and the car looses confidence on which lane each vehicle is in.  Fortunately I can switch it off now in the L405 - wasn't the case in the L322. Mike - MPx
