Climate control question.

So I am used to climate control from previous, just come from a D3. The RR seems much the same, but. When it is set at a temperature, the blower is constantly on, at some speed. I find that this dries the air, and often I just open the window a crack to let in fresh air. Am I doing something wrong ? 2013 SDV8 4.4 SE Luxor.

In addition to setting the temperature you can adjust the fan speed so it does not blow as hard. Climate control is best with the windows closed. Only Range Rovers since 1988

In Auto the blower speed is related to how close the temperature in the car is to the temperature you have set. If you have different temperatures set on the individual controls that will affect blower speed. Opening windows, at this time of year, will keep the blower on for longer.
I set 20 on both sides and Auto. I find I never need to change it and the blower is not a nuisance- at least not to me.

I also set at 20 and auto and just leave it. The only thing I've noticed is that eventually the car feels cold so I need to move it up a little to 23 - never noticed the fan. I don't think I ever open windows other than to pay for my McDonalds breakfast. Geoff

I've had this problem and in my case it's been caused by my young granddaughter playing with the rear a/c controls.

I have to check that the rear settings are off when there's nobody in the back of the car and then there's little or no fan noise. 2017 SDV8 Autobiography

Worth noting that you can change the automatic fan speed from low>medium>high.

Put air con in Auto and press sync on air con menu.
Now all the car will get to the temp you want, this will cancel out your little one in the back fiddling with the temp.
once car reaches temp fan will go down in speed and just cycle to keep constant temp.

Do you have to turn "sync" off to allow people in the back to change the temperature themselves? What do I put here then?

No. Their actions simply cancel the sync. 2019 Vogue P400e

And - possible daft question - do I have to turn sync back on, or will adjusting the driver's temp do this? What do I put here then?

Passenger action cancels sync. So yes, a new sync press is required. 2019 Vogue P400e

This made me smile, when I purchased my 2014 a few years back I clearly remember how my heart sank when I got home, sat in the back and discovered the entire rear heat/cooling control & display panel was stone cold dead..!! I read the manual with vigour hoping to find it was just a matter of selecting some or other function but alas no such luck...

So being unable to sleep I got around to stripping the rear control panel which was surprisingly easy to do, only to find that my 'fault' was a completely disconnected plug.. Quick reconnection brought all the controls back as they were meant to be..

Turns out the previous owner had young kids too, and while the fattie was not used much, I guess he must have got tired of them playing with the buttons back there...
