United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Supercharged 4.2 SC V8 Buckingham Blue

A quick update. I have ordered some of the bits from Luxury Land Rover Upgrades after 'chatting' with the guy. I realise that this system isn't perfect, but I weighed up the pros and cons of all the upgrades I could find and on refection this one ticked more boxes for me.

I'll add to this when I have had chance to fit and test it out.

This is clearly a problem for a lot of people. You can spend £250+ on something which is itself a workaround or £1000+ on a quality install. I am going to try and hack something together myself using Raspberry Pi and the Google Cast protocol (I am an Android guy)....I will post back if I have any joy...

Hi All

Just to update this thread. I bought a whole load of bits from Luxury Landrover Upgrades to try to add Apple CarPlay to my 2007 SC Range Rover.
It all arrived quickly and I tried to fit it. There were no instructions in the package. I had a go but with no success.
I did contact LLU and got some kind of instructions, but again, no luck.
They sent me a newer version of the main box - still no joy.
I kept trying and had a lot of online conversations with them - still nothing.
I told them I wanted to send it all back for a refund. They were OK with this, but asked that I try one last time.
I did manage to get it to work of sorts, but nothing like I was expecting.
- and it definitely wasn't 'plug and play'.
So, I finally sent it all back.
That's when the fun started.
I was promised a full refund. I got an email saying it had been sorted. Nothing appeared on my credit card.
After a couple of weeks I contacted my card issuer and we started to reclaim the funds.
I got that early March, but they then had 30 days to appeal it.
So far (and after more than 30 days) no appeal has been lodged, so I assume it's all finished now.
I had to wait to update this thread as I didn't want to jeopardise my refund.
It's a shame really as I was hoping it would work and my conversations with him were positive and he was helpful.
It could be that my issue is my car - I'm still having problems with my radio and sat nav.
Sorry for the long post.

So - I'm still looking, although I think I'm going to stick with what was factory fitted for now.

Regarding Navtool, they have updated the system. It is now plug and play for 2005-2009. Takes about 20 minutes to fit and is all done in the rear left cubbyhole.
It is now also wireless which works extremely well. Can even leave the phone in your pocket.
They have also improved the interface/software.
I had a freak accident with the original which fried the USB. I was sufficiently pleased with the original, which did involve some cut and splice, that I got the latest. More than pleased with the result.

I might look at the Navtool option again shortly.
Does your car have the rear DVD screens and player?
If so, does the Navtool keep those intact as original or does it replace those or render them useless?

Thanks

I’ve got aftermarket screens which have the dvd slots in the headrests. They were there when I bought the car. Never used them except to check they work.
The Navtool is in parallel with the original navigation system and does not affect it at all. You can switch easily between the two if you wished.
The only requirement is that you have an AUX input as the audio comes through it.
As it parallels the nav system it won’t affect any RSE.
None of the original features are affected.

Hi Weegie - does the updated/wireless NavTool interface still play audio via a wired AUX input cable?
Thanks
Jay
