I've bought the Poseidon 12.3 and aiming to install over the Christmas break.

On paper it looks great and I've had a nice experience from my Qs prior to purchase which really sold it above competition.

I purchased mine direct. Spoke to Dan who thoroughly sold it to me and it was delivered next day - great going given it was the week before Christmas.

What option does the systems give me for the rest Seat entertainment?

Read on RRW that you could run Netflix and amazone prime directly on the them?

@RoverP5B - did you manage to install it - if yes, then will appreciate some feedback regarding your experience with the Poseidon 12.3 as there is very limited information (reviews) available other than those on Poseidon’s website

Still on the to-do I'm afraid.

Everything is in place, just need the time as I spent the time between Christmas and New Year in hospital as our 4 year old was poorly and windows since looking at the front suspension knocking which is more frustrating, clearly, than not having Google maps!

Being new to the 4.4 SDv8, and thank goodness I departed from thinking the 3l made sense; I'm just loving driving it.

Will report soon as but visually the solution made it my call over the alternatives not to mention the processor.

Install does look straightforward from their video.

Okay, all in and looking great. It can be a little glitchy, but this not necessarily a fault of the system and more likely signal.

I must admit I did have had a few issues with it from the off.

The colour of the supposed identical Land Rover leather wasn't a great. I appreciate there would be a bit of difference but the ivory wasn't a great match and was quite poorly done. I was sent a replacement which was better but still not great and the work although hidden, not what one would call professionally trimmed.

The heater unit had what appeared to be fitment issues as the cd eject and hazard switch were half obscured and I had to cheat the panel to stop either or both being switched. I was told this was because the later panel doesn't have the cd slot/eject/hazard and customers want them hidden. I didn't really buy this and it just looks wrong. The panel I received was quite heavily marked and the rotary knob was out of true so it was also replaced. The fitment of the panel was a little better but remain that it would be better to see the buttons rather than half obscure.

Taking the opportunity to say that it is a really good bit of kit once installed and I certainly wouldn't want to return to that of old, there are a lot of little things to be aware of:

The on/off volume is just volume. The ignition has to be on for it to operate.

You can't watch anything through the android system on the rears. The is quite a major downside. You can still watch dvds but not without a lot of faff. Our child leans to watch the main screen so not the end of the world, but disappointing to lose all of the factory functions.

Both of the above are blamed by the company on the LR system but I don't see why either can't be overcome.

The display of the original is offset and looks awful although that not wholly due to the new system and something that's rarely needed.

Some plus points:

The 3d navigation in car play / android is just awesome.

Although you no longer have the 2 way clever screen, you can of course watch or rather glance on the go.

WhatsApp messaging works well and no issues with speech commands.

Instal was easy and the how to videos great. Bang for buck, the heater panel at £350 (which can be sourced cheaper) is really great and really improves the looks and function.

The android unit is great and like I say I would find it difficult to revert despite its issues, but it's a lot of money. The screen output is beautiful but not everything can take advantage of the super wide screen and I'd suggest the smaller one deserved of consideration.

I wasn't entirely happy with Poseidon but they got there in the end

I'll add more if I think of it.

Thanks so much for the update.

Did you discuss the issues you experienced with Poseidon and if I may ask, how was their response (did their response address the issues)

Yes thanks very much for taking the time to review.

That doesn’t fill me with confidence to be honest..

Regarding the leather, I did think to myself if the colour matches I’d eat my hat.
