Air Con - Diagnosis...

After having my Air Con 'tested' and refilled by Kwik Fit a month ago, it recently started to blow out hot air again. So I booked it in with my local Air Con Specialist. He has had a look - there was some dye in the system. After plugging in his machine he found a leak at the bottom corner of the condenser. There was only 5 bar pressure in the system but that was recovered anyway.

So I've just ordered a new one from site sponsor, Advanced Factors. Hopefully it'll be with me tomorrow as I've paid for DHL next day - I've found AF to be very good.

I'll strip out the old one tonight and wait for the new one.... Gavin

Damm, I missed that. Just ran it through again and the 5% would've given me £6.25 off. Will bear that in mind next order, thanks. Gavin

Help...

So, I've stripped down the front, took off the air con pipes, removed the slam panel and I cant get the condensor to lift up and away. It rises about 1cm and that's it. Just stops. I've looked and looked but cant see any clips holding it in on either side. It is literally just sitting there in the slot..

Can anyone advise how to get a 4.2 SC Condenser out ? Any secret clips? It's suppose to just lift out... Gavin

United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Autobiography TDV8 Baltic Blue

Sorry Gav, just seen your post.

Worst bit of removing mine was getting the pipes out of it!

I took the radiator out of mine and then there was enough movement in the cooling pack to tip it forward and slide the condenser out of the top.

No problem David. After getting the old one out I still couldn't see why it wouldn't come out - no clips on the plastic pack keeping it in Confused Gavin
