The ACEC numbers in the small print is the thing to follow... It needs to meet these criteria NO MATTER WHAT!

You can find those numbers in your user manual... I won't publish them here as they change between models/ages as there are different DPF's... Thumbs Up

Has to be WSS-M2C934-B spec for my 2011 4.4 TDV8 fitted with a DPF.

I use Morris of Shrewsbury version on mine that meets this spec.

MULTIVIS ADT C1 5W-30
SYNTHETIC TECHNOLOGY - LOW SAPS

Doesn't look like the correct oil to me. Looks like it's the oil for the 3.6 TDV8 and 4.4 TDV8 *without DPF* (all UK 4.4 TDV8 cars are DPF) that comes up (STJLR.03.5003). You need 5005.

I'm not aware Halfords sell the correct oil. Euro Car Parts will. And if buying online, Advanced Factors and Opie Oils have the correct oils. Smith & Allan are very popular among 4.4 TDV8 users and I personally buy PETRONAS Syntium 5000 FJ 5W-30.

You mentioned you want to do your own service. It is EASY on the 4.4 TDV8 and will take you no longer than an hour. You need a bucket, flat blade screwdriver, M8 spanner, 36mm socket with small torque wrench for the oil filter and a funnel. You also need a strap wrench if changing the fuel filter.

You need:
10L Oil STJLR.03.5005
LR022896 OX153/7D2 Mahle Element Oil Filter
LR011593 (x2) Air filter
LR032199 Pollen filter
LR072610 KC521 Mahle Fuel Filter LR0290
No parts needed but be sure to clean the MAP sensor (1x T20 screw on the "donut")
Lithium grease spray all hinges

Here's a guide I wrote for changing the oil via the drop method: https://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic60560.html

Sam has also done a video on servicing the 4.4 TDV8:

Advanced Factors (a site sponsor) can supply you all the parts you need at very competitive prices. 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8

But when ordering from ECP you will need to speak to their operative on the phone, like they are 3yrs old, checking 5 times it’s for the correct grade of oil! And again when it’s delivered!

Hard work ordering from them…

With ECP Online you can specify the ACEC and Ford spec as filter options and it only give you one choice for the TDV8 4.4 which is the Shell Helix ultra at £70. You can get the correct spec oil for 1/2 that at other suppliers. If it says C1 it's the right stuff. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

I’m also a convert to Smith & Allen, very good service and price. They are a Shell agent so it’s possible that their own brand is Shell but don’t know this for sure.
Most online factors quote the incorrect oil for Tdv8 4.4 with DPF, generally quotes the grade for 3.6 without DPF.
Note however, according to vehicle handbook, it is acceptable to top up with no more than one litre with the non C1 5w30.
Best advice from Craig is double check what you have been supplied before filling no matter where it comes from, there is a lot of confusion on oil specs & grades throughout the motor trade - I know I’m in the trade!
