Bonnet catches

I’ve checked the previous posts, but I none relate to L405.
I hate slamming the bonnet Down but the near side catch won’t grab otherwise. Had it all apart looking for an adjustment, but can’t find any. Any ideas please. 2013 SDV8 4.4 SE Luxor.

same here, on a MY2022 L494 (Sport)
my car has the guarantee and so it will go to the dealer to get a new lock / catch on the right hand side (in driving direction).
The hood will also be aligned (again)

I don't know if there is any possibility to solve it without exchanging the lock/catch Range Rover Sport HST D350

I’m in the same boat and have just got used to it - agree it seems odd. Mine is just on one side too. 2016 SDV8 AB

Mine is the same, but only on one side... I'd say it seems very odd... but it's a Range Rover.... stupid idiosyncratic nonsense is kind of it's thing Andrew.

Same here, complained 3/4 times to the dealer and even picked it up once with the catch not caught properly and they still didn't do much about it. LR Assist once stripped it on my drive and found nothing much wrong, it was a little better after that.

In the end I just accepted "They all do that Sir, you need to give it a slam" Neutral Sold - Bell a 2015 MY16 Loire Blue Autobiography 4.4 SDV8

I’ll be the odd ball …. Offside for me! Don’t need to slam it though, just a firm press down as it closes. Doing it gently, then only the near side bites properly. V8 or else ...

Nearside one has been the problem for me, but more with the switch for the alarm. The first time the catch failed to latch I found the supplying dealer had bypassed the switch to stop the alarm going off.. Evil or Very Mad

There is adjustment for the position of the catch - the mounting holes are oversized so the catch can be moved to the best position. Also the rubber bump stops on the corners of the bonnet are adjustable.

Ditto.

Oddball club for the off side 405’s Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Emissions Analytics worked with........etc etc

Ours is also offside Rolling with laughter

LR Assist spent about 2 hours on it, I have no interest in spending any more time so I’ll just be firm with it Thumbs Up Sold - Bell a 2015 MY16 Loire Blue Autobiography 4.4 SDV8

To adjust the bonnet you adjust the latch position... Held on with torx bolts... Thumbs Up

Not sure if I am correct but a lot of cars have only one catch so it's not as sensitive to adjustment. Opened mine up on day 5 of ownership, adjusted both sides, greased catches and springs with fine mist of synthetic gun oil and seven years later still closes properly with little extra nudge every time. The rubber noise seals and plastic grommets spread throughout the engine compartment are a whole other discussion. Should have sign which says dispose after one try.
