When I replaced the main battery (under the spare wheel) I used a Yuasa YBX9019 from tanya.co.uk
A replacement for the secondary battery (behind the RH boot side panel) I believe would be YBX9096

The battery management system will need to be reset following main battery replacement.

Have you checked what a new one would cost through the site sponsors?

So my 2018 SDV8 has the original battery so far so good Thumbs Up
But with Tinman having to replace his battery on a 2017 guess I have at least another year to run.

I tend to charge every 3 to 4 months with my Ctek but thats when I get the "Start the car" message, gradual drain is my dash cam and short journeys takes its toll.
My question is--

What's the average amount of years before they start to decay. ( I try every trip to hit the disable auto start button) Rolling with laughter
So what's the record for battery longevity ? Whistle 2018 SE SDV8 4.4 Byron Blue

The reason that I think that I need a battery is I have a battery monitor connected which shows that the cranking is below what it should be for starting, I became aware of a problem when as the previous post said that after leaving the tailgate open for a short while the bong came on the dash to start the car.
The monitor shows the charging condition and the battery, which I found helpful as the colder weather is coming and we know what a bad battery does for a full-fat RR.

Might seem wasteful but I treat batteries as a service item and change them as soon as I get a “new” car, especially a big engined automatic.
Under £150 delivered for a branded AGM battery from Tayna every 3 years just seems like a drop in the ocean of RR running costs and provides cheap peace of mind as we all know how huffy our cars can get if they feel deprived of volts.

So in the last month, I got the low battery warning twice. I am charging the battery now. The battery is 3 years old only, but for most of the first year, it was in a showroom. Should I think about replacing it?

Has anyone got a battery sensor on the main battery? Do they return valuable data? I know I have the Ctek connector under the bonnet with the LED marks, but it always shows a middle-charged battery. I remember reading that I would get different results connecting directly to the main battery. SDV8 AB MY 2020

Does this mean it has to go to the Dealers Fifth?

So I have my multi-meter connected to the terminals under the bonnet. This is after some longer drives today on the motorway.

@17:51 12.18v

After watching "Raymies Garage" YouTube video about battery replacement and his battery monitor. I think that my battery is on the way out. I am driving to Italy in the mountains and don't want to get stuck.

Am I correct in my thinking? SDV8 AB MY 2020

This is also after being on the CTek charger overnight. So I think it is very much coming to the end of its life.

As my car is 2020 version, to tell the system I have new batteries, is it a trip to the main dealers? SDV8 AB MY 2020
