My advise would be to bin them both and get some lower headlight trims from an HSE which didn't get the wipers, they always give bother and are pretty much useless anyway... Pete

Thanks - I’ve never seen the blanking plates.. I thought they all had wipers. Only thing I’m worried about by blanking them is that it’s an MOT failure isn’t it? I thought Bi-xenons had to have a cleaning system and if fitted it has to work 2003 Vogue 4.4 V8 Java Black |

Any car manufactured before September 1 2009 fitted with hid headlights does not require to have headlight washers so if the are missing, removed or not working they cannot fail a mot. ie they are not a testable item.

I had the same problem and replaced the pump. It didn't fix the issue and was about to condemn the system and fit blanks.
