New Windscreen & non-working rain sensors

Hi

So a stone happily trashed my windscreen and 2 weeks ago AutoGlass (through my insurers Admiral) replaced the windscreen, two issues were noticed immediately upon next drive:

1) Rattling from driver's piller when at "motorway speeds"

2) Automatic rain sensors don't respond to rain and now simply functions as an always on intermittent wiper (set it to auto and it ignores windscreen water and simply does an intermittent wipe until switched off, dipped lights also seem to come on randomly in full daylight)

Contacted Autoglass and today a team arrived to resolve:

a) Rattling was broken / missing trim fixing clips - which they noticed and have replaced (yet to test at high speed though)

b) They can't seem to find any causes but agree it's not working - have left recommending that they order and fit a new senor

So, I'm not that impressed given that they didn't already have a replacement sensor to fit, but I also suspect that isn't the issue and that it might have something to do with the windscreen is no longer badged as a "Land Rover Pilkington E1 43R-001588" official windscreen that was installed, but rather now a "Shatterprufe E11 43R-00089"

Does anyone else have any experience with these windscreen types at all?

I can see from this thread that it looks like an invalid screen type https://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic57909-15.html

Cheers

Ian

feel your pain. this thread has inspired me to check screen type and connections.

The screen finally fitted was third attempt.
Windscreen wiper intermittent selection - does not work. Changing the delay interval stimulates one wipe only.
Windscreen wiper- rain sensor wiping - does not work.

When I had my L322 windscreen refitted at the dealership by autoglass they simply forgot to refit the connector to the sensor, had to go back to the dealership for them to reconnect it, could be something as simple as that ? 2021 P400 Silicon Silver AB

They say they fully checked the connections & pins today - now waiting for Autoglass warranty dept to contact me (already called their customer services and advised they fitted a non-original windscreen and the number of issues reported with those)

My own screen is Branded LAMISHIELD 43R-000738
Sent email to fitting company a few hours ago - about the ongoing issues. Just had phone call and they are sending out a fitter Monday. Might save me a job.

Mine didn’t work either. I ordered a replacement sensor. While I was awaiting its delivery, I read the notes on my Faultmate help page and saw it mentioned recalibration.

I ran the recalibration and it worked. Umm, anyone need the sensor I bought? Sad Ron B. VK2OTC

If it's anything like a BMW, with sensor d/c or faulty, the wipers revert to standard intermittent wiper operation. 2012 (L322) 4.4TDV8 Vogue SE, RSE, Fuji White over Arabica.
