United Kingdom 2017 Range Rover Autobiography 5.0 SC V8 Carpathian Grey

AA had increased my Disco insurance by 40+% So I told them to do one and moved to SAGA for £1 more than last year. I'm dreading searching for the l405 come September that's currently £350+ with Direct Line. All quotes done recently with incorrect dates are roughly double. This is sleepy Norfolk, not Peckham.
And if the batteries are the reason, then let them pay. My cars only have a starter battery at £150. That won't break Admiral. 2017 5.0 Autobiography Supercharged

Bank of Scotland +400%!!!

Just had my renewal and fell on the floor. Guess bank of Scotland are pulling out of the 405 market!

57 year old. rural middle England clean licence 5k miles per year.

Stupid thing is the policy is actually Axa Insurance. On the usual comparison site for new customers they are a whole £1000 cheaper.

What a corrupt industry!

Got renewal via Tescos for £850.

Hi
I have an L405 AB 2014, around 15K a year.
I am 54 and my premium from Churchill has gone from £374.12 to £626.56 Censored

No accidents or claims of any sort.

I have looked at other insurance, around £800 plus. A couple would not quote. Tried to quote for a Telsa S and had a quote for £1300. Shocked

Disappointed and feeling ripped off. The joys of motoring. Shocked

1st Central insurance wanted £53 to change from L322 to L405, £25 of which was the 'admin fee' so total of £478 for comprehensive with 5k miles p.a.

I was with Admiral until a couple of weeks ago and the renewal was £1,750 (last year the premium was £850).

Most other quotes were £2k plus.

Went with Aviva in the end as they were offering a discount as I have a pension with them - £930.

London is getting seriously bad. I'm now up to 3.2K this year, best deal with gated parking ('17 L405 SC). I think us townies will soon be selling to country folk that can insure them...

England 2018 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Corris Grey

my renewal quote is currently the 'cheapest' at a 100% increase, I rang them asking for the extra security measures I have put in place to be reflected in the reduced risk (2 trackers, and an immobiliser) but they wouldn't reduce the risk as they have it listed as having manufacturer immobiliser and tracker, even though we know they are easily defeated.

All other avenues seem to be more expensive. Semi rural Cheshire location, many years full no claims, no accidents or convictions. First time FFRR owner

Here’s the insurer’s POV. It doesn’t seem to ring true to me, I think some price gauging and market collusion is going on…… e.g. “inflation means our customers are conditioned expect prices to go up so we’ll put it up by the most we can”.

In April mine was just under £400 with Churchill: +9 years NCB, 10k miles P.A., city location, on street parking.

Has anyone considered TPF&T ? TDV8 4.4 2012

"Has anyone considered TPF&T ?"

It's the "&T" part that seems to be the issue for insurers.

Deleting the "&T" from policies may be an option for those of us who have sub £10 or even 15k value cars if we take extra precautions to make theft more diffecult.

My RR isn't due for renewal yet, but I also have a Qashqai and that's due on Oct 1.

Last year's premium was £199, LV have just offered a renewal for £346. Been shopping around and the best I can get is £289.

Tried TP only and best rate was £450! 2017 SDV8 Autobiography

We can all add Green Line to the list of insurers that won’t insure. Just been told “we are unable to cover this model vehicle due to our claims experience.” Andy

I think the insurance companies have yet to get to terms with car inflation. I wandered into BMW yesterday and you can easily spend north of £175,000 on what used to be a super up family saloon with bucket seats and leather… Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Emissions Analytics worked with........etc etc

He who dies with the most toys wins...
