Windscreen Replacement

Morning all.
National Windscreens are coming today to replace my screen. I’m obviously going to keep a careful eye on them as I am at home but is there anything in particular I should watch for?
Thanks

They may have trouble removing the wipers and try to fit the screen with them and the plastic scuttle in place, this is not a good idea...!!

If/when they do get it off check the clips on the plastic scuttle, if even one is missing or broken it won't fit properly and will whistle at speed.... I have seen them glue the scuttle back on to try to prevent this but it's a bodge...

They broke some clips off mine and when I mentioned it they replaced the whole scuttle, it is hundreds of £'s so check it well.... Pete

Thank you. I will insist that the wipers come off.
How does the plastic surround come off? Do you just pull it off?

A bit late but yes, just pulls off, after removing the few trim clips, then there are other clips behind it and it's these that tend to break....

Hope it went OK.. Pete

Thank you. I think I’m going to end up buying some clips.
In fact they didn’t come. Cancelled this morning due to staff sickness. Very annoying as I had left the afternoon clear. Coming ? next Friday now

Unfortunately the clips that break are part of the scuttle panel so can't be bought independently of it. 2012 (L322) 4.4TDV8 Vogue SE, RSE, Fuji White over Arabica.

Yep, as Dan says the other clips are the actual scuttle itself...

It's many hundreds of pounds so make sure all the parts that clip in are present or it WILL annoy the hell out of you on a motorway at speed, especially in crosswinds.... Thumbs Up

Another issue is the rain sensor, it has to be positioned correctly and fitted to the new screen without any bubbles, most fitters are experienced in the now but make sure you try it with a hose on spray after the screen has cured and is OK to get wet... Pete
