AUTO BRAKE HOLD, how to switch off permanently

I don't know if it bothers you as much as it annoys me.

Turning the car in the street and the 'auto brake hold' engages..
You have to kick the accelerator to get it of asap, and you jolt forward.. ..not ideal.

Same thing : slowly backing up on an incline.. .. it blocks the parking brake 'auto hold'..

Nice for disabled drivers, but for the rest a nuisance..

Can't find a procedure how to kill this feature off permanently..

Who knows how to reset this monkey.. Rolling Eyes I-pace First Edition Santorini & 2nd car Mazda MX-30 Advantage red/black

This behaviour is only on the PHEV vehicles such as yours, I don’t think it can be programmed out with an iiD tool, but others more knowledgable may advise, hopefully. Whistle
But why not simply push down the switch to release the EPB before you drive off?
Perhaps it’s different on the PHEV, but moving off with the EPB applied (say whilst executing a 3-point turn on a heavily-cambered road) is normally quite smooth if you are gentle with the throttle.
I guess it could be a little unnerving if you are really close to another vehicle. “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?

Hi Gremlin, thanks for your reply.

The EPB is off. What happens is : I'm driving, send by the satnav into a dead-end facing bollards making the rest of the road a bicycle lane. I can only backout or turn. Both sides parked cars with two slithers on both sides to put the nose/rear of the car. Then when I slowly approach the curb and stop, the brake applies..

To get going, I need to pres the throttle to 'override ' the 'parking brake'. Maybe I should try to disengage it with the handle ? I find it a nuisance. I-pace First Edition Santorini & 2nd car Mazda MX-30 Advantage red/black

Hi Dan,

Did you check out the mode of operation of the EPB in the LR iGuide?

See here: https://www.ownerinfo.landrover.com/

You should be able to release the parking brake manually by depressing the switch in the centre console?

Hope this helps. “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?

@Gremlin 500.

I did check it before, but couldn't find it.

But using the phrase "EPB" ( what the describe as a switch in Dutch..), I could.

There is a method to permanently disable the "auto handbrake" function.. Thumbs Up

Confusingly there are two methods to switch it off permanently.. Rolling Eyes
