Just got a 2017 RR and I am having a technical issues!

Hi all,

I have just purchased a 2017 Autobiography and absolutely love it but have a few issues with the incontrol features and any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Firstly I have registered the car to my account no problem, put in a sim card, which is working too, I have signed into Spotify through the in control website but its not appearing in the Live section on the head unit, does it take a few days to appear?

Secondly I cannot work out how to update the map, I have gone through the website again, added my car (which it never seems to remember on the maps and services page) and it just keeps telling me the update (map) should appear when I sign into the nav in the car but it doesn’t. Is there a subscription I need to take out for this and if there is where is it as I cannot find anything on the website.

Then on the centre info on the dash I have no service information at all, I have looked in every single menu and sub menu but nothing.

Lastly the car seems to not read my oil level either (its just had an oil service but would be useful to know this is working) - everytime I go to check the oil it just says cannot get a reading.

Sorry for the brain dump but just a few niggles I would love to sort.

Regarding your oil level, did you remember to have the bonnet up?

I've got the L322 but I presume it's the same method. Make sure the oil is warm. You have to have the bonnet fully open for the readout to work. You should wait at least 10 minutes for the oil to settle before checking or it won't work. You can press the cruise control cancel button twice if the reading is not available for a rough idea of the level. Thumbs Up

The map update is a right PITA. Its done through here.com. You do need a subscription. You also need a 64Gb usb stick (Europe map size is around 34gb so won't fit on a 32). Getting it to download on your PC to the USB can take some coaxing but it should eventually do it. Once its on the USB stick, put the stick in the USB slot in the front arm rest cubby and the Nav screen will prompt to see if you want it updated. You'll need the engine running and about 30 mins, so do it on a journey when you know the route and dont need the map! You should get prompted that a new map is available about monthly, but not usually worth the pfaff - I just do it a couple of times a year.

Service info only pops up on mine relatively shortly before it due - maybe a month before. Mike - MPx

I cannot find where to take out the subscription - when I put my VIN in it just takes me to a page saying I have a connected car and to log into that.

When I go to maps and services and try and add my car it never stays added!

Try starting from https://www.landrover.co.uk/ownership/inco...dates.html

Scroll down and select your model and "find maps for your car"

Follow the instructions about logging on or registering

One you're signed in to the InControl stuff then click on the Maps and Services tab - top right. When you scroll down, the subscription options should come up for you to add to your basket. And once you've subscribed then that "Add to your basket" button changes to "Get latest version" Mike - MPx

When I go there and try and add my car using the VIN it never seems to remember and I just get sent to this page.

https://landrovershop.here.com/web/WFS/HA-...nefitsPage

I have just looked in the car and it definitely says my subscription has expired and that new maps are available to download but when I go to the website I just go round in circles! If I enter my cars VIN I re directed to the above link and then the car does not stay added to my account (it is added to my main InControl account but the Nav seems to be a separate account).

Its driving me nuts!

Really? They only supported the car for 3 years for map updates???

I have Apple Car Play already but I like to use the map in the dash and I am not sure that is supported with the Carplay maps.

That is really disappointing.

@Stan, no that’s not right.
I have a subscription running until 2025, and still get regular downloads via my PC from the landrover.here.com website on to a USB stick.
Make sure battery health is A1, or you will get problems when uploading from the stick to the car. “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?

So the issue I seem to be having is I just cannot get my profile for maps to accept my car, I put in the VIN confirm the car and then it just doesn’t stick to my account. It’s really infuriating.
