I think that big chunk of soft steel in the middle has something to do with drawing power from the engine does it not?? Wink

On a serious note that inlet plenum is a prime candidate for replacement to improve pickup a smidge, look at all those unsightly unused take offs!!

They are resonators to reduce the intake noise.... I'm sure there could be room for improvement, although the air cleaner has only just been replaced. I do fancy a performance one.

I thought you were not keen on the K&N in your old car? (Not good for offroading)

You mean your plate hasn't got a stone chip on it yet, lucky so and so!!!

for a filter go with a decent foam one not a K&N jobby Smile

Wash with H&S, then just wd40 it to keep it clean enough Smile

Or at the top of the bleak and lonely Woodhead Pass as its getting dark and a storm is brewing plus zero phone signal on any network.....

But don't you just love an SC Very Happy

chug, chug, chhhhuuuuugggg, THUD!!

I thought that was a standard sound from a lovely V8 unit Wink

I've owned an R5 that would blow a HG at the first whiff of heat, one at the first whiff of boost.... things only get more reliable in my eyes and car ownership Very Happy

In fairness to the SC I think the AJV8 itself is VERY reliable and will last forever. Its the bits that are connected to it that can go wrong occasionally..... Smile

Hi dan, lovely motor you've got there.

I have the original owners one, but really should take it off as the original number came through.

But I just bought my initials from DVLA for £255 inc all fees - bargains.

Couldnt find - DDUK24
