L322 2011 4.4 - Turbo Boost Pipe

L322 2011 TDV8 4.4

I was told some months back that my nearside turbo boost pipe has a slight rupture. Since then I have driven across france without issue.

My question is : Is it a big job to replace it?

What else should be done with this job?

I plan to keep the motor so should I do the water pump, oil pump and alternator?

I am replacing all pulleys and 2 x belts

Thanks in advance!

You’ll probably need to do a little more homework to get the advice you’re looking for; track down the specific part at fault and then use search on here to find what others have done.

Most “boost” type issues tend to result in sooting in the induction system which progressively degrades performance over time until a fault occurs.

For a broad overview and how to clean/maintain the key sensors involved see :

Hi, nothing to do with your question but I do like your wheels, those 5 spokes really suit the car, at least from that angle.

What are they ?

You'll need to determine which of the boost pipes on that side it is. Here's the diagram to confirm:

Are you sure they don't meant the top hose which adjoins to the throttle body? The seal inside this is well known for failing. Changing it or the whole part takes 5 minutes.

Second part of the diagram showing the LH air cleaner to turbo inlet:

My alternative thought is that it could be the hose that runs vertically from the air cleaner to turbo inlet. It's made of thin plastic and has a corrugated section which could split. This is also easy to change, albeit a bit fiddly. 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8

Thanks a bunch for that. I am currently in Italy so will take it down to a garage to inspect.

I am pretty sure they are from an X5. Even though the bolt pattern is the same, I was almost certain that I would need spigot rings but they mounted perfectly. They are Alessio rims.

Thanks for that info. I did check his video out a few weeks ago and am seriously thinking about doing a EGR & DPF delete and mapping them out.

It took me a while but I got them in the end.

I almost bought a set of 22 Stormers but I know they are more prone to cracking.

I added some more info and pics i the 'wheels and tyres' section

that may help you.
