My issue was starting from cold. In the end it stopped while running but with error code and it ran poorly for a while with no throttle response. Just like when fuel supply drops. My car ran with only one of the two pumps so it should not just cut off. Starting, however, is more difficult.

You can measure the pressure on the low pressure side using a simple tool attached to the fuel filter holder. You can probably see if the pressure is below normal already now. I’d replace both pumps if I would encounter this again.

With the genuine fuel pump installed the car is back to normal. What a waste to trust Rimmerbros and other dealers with the OEM pump. Next time I’ll go genuine unless it’s obvious that an OEM part can do the job. Hurray!

Could someone please confirm the locations of the various fuel pumps please as I’m unsure which one is the cause of my low fuel pressure? Thanks.

Hi! There is one in the fuel tank accessible from the rear seat. The front one can be accessed from the engine bay to the left back. You need to remove the ECU as it is located under it. Cheers

Ah, thanks.

I’m guessing the whining noise from the pump beneath the ECU means it is either knackered or is trying to pump fuel when none is being sent from the tank.
