I'm on my 3rd tank in a row now and noticing a definate improvemnt in low rpm power pickup. Previously the only changes were the lack of diesel clatter and sickly exhaust smell in the mornings. No MPG gains or increased DPF regen intervals which was the reason I tried it. Not sure if the drivability improvements after 2 tanks are the result of the cleaning addatives or the ECU adapting to the improved combustion efficiency ( likley both) but I'm not going back to ordinary diesel. Some say that ordinary diesel + addatives are just as good but it's a lot of faff when filling up. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

I only ever use V-Power or BP Ultimate diesel in mine. Always have - make sure you have the apps and the points you get through the use makes up for the slight increase in cost as you always collect points etc and convert to coupons. 2007 Range Rover Vogue 3.6 TDV8

Every third tank i use supreme
For the benefit of extra detergent

I notice zero difference in performance
I do notice £10- £15 pounds a tank per refill

You can easily add redex etc…to each tank full if you want

I am a big fan of V Power and use it almost exclusively however I am getting increasingly annoyed at the price difference as it feels like we are being ripped off. Currently my local Shell garage has diesel at £1.43 whereas V Power is £1.69. I do feel that V Power has some actual benefits and is worth more, but 26p per litre, or around £20 on a full tank just seems excessive. So I am looking at additives and just fill up at Tesco for £1.39 per litre.

I know this will open a can of worms, but I use Archoil in my Alfa diesel, has decent reviews. 2012 Orkney Grey Westminster 4.4TDV8 with Ivory interior.........nice!

Reputable brand and I like the ‘single shot’ can rather than messy measuring/dosing. It works out about half the price of V Power.

If V-Power also has a GTL ( Gas to liquid ) synthetic fuel addative as well as a cetane booster it's not the same as just normal fuel + addative. I personaly don't mind £20 extra per tank for the power delivery refinements I'm getting which definatly took 3 tanks on a row to see the difference so not convinced alternate fills with ordinay diesel are worth it either. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

6 yrs on Tesco diesel and it runs just as good as it ever did. Oh and as I fill up every fortnight I've saved well over 2000 quid (surely not that much, my maths may not be correct) - not that it matters . Geoff

my wife car use supermarket diesel and ended up garage bill 12 quid all blocked up with gunk even the garage owner said not to use .

Apparently there is very little benefit to premium diesel over standard. Petrol is different though.

I am going to take his advice and just use standard diesel from any high volume and well maintained fuel station.

Also interesting comment that the best way to deal with diesel in the green agenda is to replace it with HVO rather than electric or hydrogen etc. trucks are already widely using HVO so perhaps also a solution to diesel Range Rovers?

I thought this was all Hokum to be honest, however I’ve recently changed my mind.
A mechanic acquaintance with decades-long experience working on LR and farm vehicles, told me not to use cheap diesel, so I thought I’d experiment. I keep a weekly OCD log of fuel/cost/miles/mpg (using the “brimming the tank” method), and due to little variance in the mostly urban journeys made, almost always got between 27.5 and 28.5mpg over the past 3 years.
I was quite surprised when my last two fills both returned 31.5mpg on the Super Diesel, so an improvement of 3.5mpg, -that’s a 12.5% improvement!
Has anyone else found similar?

So for now, it seems the Super is no more expensive, and may keep my fuel system in better shape, and give a bit more power when needed, it seems a no-brainer. V6 Vogue - “Less is More” - less to go wrong!

As regular forum users will know I am a supermarket diesel is fine sort of guy (also it's the easiest for me to get as Tesco is just across the road). However recently I put a couple of tanks of V-Power in and the car seemed to run better, as for better fuel consumption I wouldn't know or care. For every tale of how good V-Power is there is always a story that starts with "I know a bloke......" all the first hand experiences on here reassure me that V-Power is not a bad thing so when I am on a longer trip and need to fill up I use it. If cost were an issue I probably wouldn't be running a Range Rover. Geoff

I have always run all of mine on Super Unleaded and Super Diesel, is all in the head probably but i feel better for it......
