I had my TDV8 remapped today using a reputable UK company known as Evolution chips. I had considered driving to the UK to have JE Engineering do it but given the additional cost of that to me I decided against it. After doing a search on their website their agent for Ireland is only based about 5 mins drive from me which was an additional reason for using them. They have been involved in the Performance mapping industry for over 11 years and produce all of their own maps. The remap was done using the live method which means the ECU remap was specific to my car.

I will admit that original map I got did'nt go very well with the car despite my initial comments. When I tested it after having it done I did'nt really get the chance to drive it for an extended period and I found the car to run a little rougher and fuel consumption was actually up. On average I was getting about 22 which was about 3mpg less than stock. I contacted the company and they revised the map for me and its like a new car since I had the revised map done. They knew exactly what the problem was and apparently had two other FFRRs that showed the same symptoms of higher MPG. The car now runs much smoother and on average im getting about 27.2 mpg and on the motorway about 34 to 35 mpg if I stay at 70ish. Absolutely delighted now with how the car drives much quieter and more poke if I need it. Hope that clarifies. Present :2008 TDV8 HSE

depends where you have it done andy..i think mine was just the original map read and then put back and this process put the gearbox back to a virgin state hence the great mpg to start with and back to normal after a few weeks...
