They were lucky, the car ran faultlessly but I'm sure that most garages in the USA could fix a 1970's Caddy, I don't think they were all that hitech. My worry would be the cost of fuelling something from the 70's even at America's ludicrously cheap fuel prices. Th couple I sail with have an RV in Florida that they are about to drive from Key West to Las Vegas, the best fuel consumption they ever see with it is 8mpg on PETROL and if they go over 60 it falls to 5mpg............. makes a FFRR S/C look like an economy car! 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes |

Well most of their cars are brick shaped with engines made using bricks so you can't expect them to do fuel saving when they care about low down lazy torque and filling sumps with fuel, IIRC aren't oil change and tranny changes classed at 3k intervals mostly?? |

23 year old daughter and sister in law did this drive last year , said it was brilliant but scary at times , albeit over a 3 week period |
