Radar Sensor Blocked fix

Hi there, My new to me L405 has a radar sensor blocked error message. I understand from research that the sensor is behind the front bumper. Has anyone else had a similar issue and could cleaning the sensor fix it or does it need a new sensor. Any help/experience on this would be greatly appreciated.

How dirty is the bumper? Normally comes up in snow conditions or if something's blocking it, seems a bit strange, I would be more concerned you have a red triangle up!

I am sure someone will be along soon with some words of wisdom...

The one on my previous L322 failed with the same message. I eventually disabled ACC in the CCF to regain the use of standard CC as the cost of a new one was prohibitive. L405 D350 SE Carpathian Grey D5 19" rims

I have the same issue with mine, although it works a lot of the time but fails at the exact same spot in 4 different locations.

Not related to journey time - but always pings up with big yellow triangle... it actually does come back to life a short whiel later but again fails at the next place. I'm wondering if there are radar devices in those places that screws mine up..?

Anyway, at £399 for a used one on eBay I doubt I will bother to fix it.

Graeme, I guess we can live with the IEBA system as well and go back to good old CC..!! Ash

@comports
It happened to me on 1 occasion on a motorway, maybe it was a F35 lighting me up Shocked or just local plod with his death ray? Whistle

I was soon able to reinstate it.

But if its a permanent fault thats a different matter of course. 2018 SE SDV8 4.4 Byron Blue

No, not fixed. Thinking of removing the front bumper and cleaning the sensor but haven't got round to doing it as yet.

How much have you driven it ? I’ve found that sometimes if the vehicle has been reset or out of charge and the systems need to start from scratch then things like the radar need time to learn /reset themselves. Ie it kind of self calibrates whilst on the move V8 or else ...

Mine has errored twice, both times in the motorway with torrential rain.

The GAP tool said something along the lines of “sensor blocked”.

It seemed to sort itself out after some time and the rain slackened off. Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

If the L405's mounting is like the L322's then it's basically impossible for any material to get between the radar unit and the bumper because the front of the unit fits into a recess in the bumper. L405 D350 SE Carpathian Grey D5 19" rims

if you get blocked sensor message and bumper is clean then 90% sure is wrong mounted. i.e. someone hit bumper and bent s3nsor bracket. It is really soft to protect sensor from damage. you need to bend it back straight as much as possible with hammer, set with bubble eye and wire to look straight forward, then do the calibration wit IID. ACC should again work as it should.
