£70 is a very good price if it does what it claims...

No business address on their website, just an email. Stay well clear. And why so cheap? Stinks to high heaven of a con. Buy at your own peril. |

If you run into issues editing your CCF, you’re going to need the expertise of someone like Patrick at Gap. He’s got me out of a few holes over the years and I really wouldn’t mess around with it without knowing I could get expert support.

Totally agree with the comments above but if someone is on a tight budget and wants to be a guinea pig....!! Just don't moan if you end up with a very expensive paperweight.... |

False economy really. I'd rather spend £350 on an iid tool. As for budget, why have a range rover if you are going to skimp on cheap tacky parts for it? If you can afford to run and maintain a range rover then you can afford £350 for an iid tool. Sorry haylands, that's not directed at you. |

My reading on this is that this is just a Mongoose cable.

As the oldest L322's are now around £1000 there must be a market for cheap diagnostic equipment. People buying at that price point wont want to fork out 35 to 50% of the vehicle price on the class leading IID, but "maybe" this may help them out.

I'd say that's a pretty good summary of whats being offered, I wouldn't go anywhere near a Mongoose device unless it's an original (no longer available) and this will be a clone for the money. It would be ok for reading and clearing DTC's but no way for flashing ecu's or editing the CCF as the clones are prone to crash half way through a process and then you have a big problem. With regards to SDD, this is stilll available but requires a full Topix subscription to run it, the supplied item will be cracked and I know from previous experience it will only work for a limited amount of time. The only way to use SDD reliably is with the correct JLR VCI interface as below: - https://jlrequipment.service-solutions.com...=JLR-00001 I have the above interface (which is good for vehicles upto 2017, then you need the DOIP interface & Pathfinder diagnostic software) and SDD, but hardly ever use it, it's great for flashing ecu's (as there are a few that the IID cannot do and it saves the GAP per ecu flash file cost). Day-to Day, I just use IID, far quicker and simpler to use than SDD. Of course it goes without saying that if you are doing anything more than clearing faults, you should also be using a battery support unit as there is a massive current draw on the vehicle battery when flashing ecu's, this is the reason SDD will not allow you to continue diagnostics without a bettery support unit connected. Bottom line is - don't waste your time or money! L405 SV Autobiography LWB SDV8, finished in Aston Martin China Grey by ETO division. |

I wasn't interested in it for diagnosing problems I have an Autel MK808 which has served me great for the Range rover and other cars I end up working on. I was more interested in the statement that it can do keys, therefore letting me do a second key for the Range rover and also a jaguar..

SDD will do keys on the L322 or L405, the latter needs a new KVM as they are locked to OTP (one time program), not sure I'd trust a mongoose clone though, case of pays your money and takes your chances applies here as in most things in life!
