Quirky Suspension issue

Hi All, My money pit has developed a strange suspension fault in that the Queens Button ( lowering button on the door ) has stopped working as it should. If I press it when stationary with the engine running I get the dreaded 'Ding' and Suspension Fault message, also special programs inactive. If I turn the engine off and press again it lowers. Sometimes I have to do this a 2 or 3 times before it goes down. When I eventually start the car to drive off the car come up OK and drives fine. Now, if I don't make sure the car has fully lowered before I restart and drive off, once I get up to about 40 I get the Ding and the message again ! Also I have noticed that in the case of the latter happening the switch on the centre panel is not lit up as it is when all is well.
I was wondering if anyone else had encountered the same and what was the cause/cure ?

Sounds as though it could be a height sensor problem. My first course of action would be check the linkage and wiring connections on each of the height sensors. If you have a diagnostic tool such as the iid, next step would be checking th output from each sensor.

Hi Dtech -- Thanks, I was thinking about getting an OBDII check done to see what the fault codes might say.
