Just to check, the L322 M62 has a remote oil filter housing that, if you look in the engine bay, is behind the top right of the radiator. It takes a 'paper' style cartridge inside it which sits around a removeable plastic centre as seen here:

The socket size for the oil filter cap is 36mm. The oil filter you need is the LPW500030 like this:

I had this on tickover. Best solution was to drop the sump plate, remove the pickup and strainer, and clean the strainer using a sharp pick. If the guides have previously gone then there will be bits in the strainer restricting the oil flow. Easy job to do.

The other things you may need are the filter housing rubber mounts. They do fail and tear apart leaving the oil filter housing hanging. 2 off part no.
