32003 3.0 Td6 Gearbox

My 3.0 Td6 has a reconditioned gearbox that's done around 30,000 miles.
After being parked overnight the drive seems somewhat slow to initially engage.....maybe 5-10 seconds. Fine after that for the rest of the day until the next overnight rest. The gearbox was serviced last week and no major problems were observed but the issue remains.
Any thoughts?
Cheers
Mark

Transmission issues when cold, which disappear once warmed up, often relate to a low fluid level. Might be worth checking? You have the GM 5L40-E transmission, which uses Dexron fluid.

Hi Phil
Thanks for your reply. I had hoped that the recent service would have cleared any fluid level issues but looking at the data sheet that you've attached I have my doubts as to whether or not the transmission specialist has followed the process quite to the letter.
I'll maybe try a drain and refill myself to be sure!
Thanks again.
Mark

The most critical factor is that the engine must be ticking over while the level is set, otherwise the fluid in the torque converter drains down into the sump and produces an artificially high fluid level.
