5W30 is for the diesels. Kev

We use 5w/30 in our AMG Gt s and it’s fine, and in my old Gle63s so why so light oil? |

5w20 used to be specified for the 5.0 and was revised to 0w20 a few years ago. A lighter weight oil will improve cold start oil flow (but not oil pressure). Different engine designs with different requirements and clearances will have different oil requirements.
