My rattly fuel pump is annoying me, so ordered a brand new Bosch one via Tayna on eBay. They’re doing £75 off an already decent price, so managed to get it for £717 delivered.

New from JLR is approx £1,200 or so.

Hopefully this cures the noise !

I'll get my local Indy to do it. Although it doesn't look a big job, high pressure fuel squirting all over the place if I disconnect the wrong pipe at the wrong time, means that I'd be happy to pay an expert.

It’s a sort of rattle - most noticeable inside the car in the first few mins of driving. I thought it was a dodgy alternator bearing, but the Indy said it’s definitely the high pressure pump.

Difficult to hear as well with the bonnet open due to all the other noises going on.

All pulleys, tensioner, idlers etc have been changed so I know it’s definitely not any of them.

My injection pump got really noisy so I put some good injector cleaner in the tank and it has been quiet ever since. Worth a go?

Out of interest what injector cleaner did you use? I am sceptical as to whether those things actually work?  _______________________________________________
