Car is coming upto 10 years old so 160k service is due
the milage to date is only 10.6k (full JLR servicing history to date)
should I go with the jlr service recomendation all diff & gearbox fluids to be changed?
I am not aware of any issues to date

Mines close and i will be doing the full monty.

Except i and the gearbox serviced last year so no need for that again.

Find a good indy - not the stealers.
Thumbs Up

Oils and other parts such as rubber drive belts etc degrade over time even with little or no use. I would do a full service schedule. But as Dave says - find a good Indy specialist rather than a JLR dealer.

10k miles Shocked

I'm not sure which are age & which mileage related, but consider -

Renew brake fluid.
Replace front accessory drive belt.
Renew engine coolant.
Replace fuel filter element.
Replace Dynamic Response fluid reservoir
Replace flexible brake lines

Oil oxidises with time, so your diff / transfer / gearbox oils should definitely be changed irrespective of mileage covered.

There's a video somewhere on YouTube, where sealed and un-used gear oil is lab tested and found to be hopelessly out of spec due to the passage of time.

I'll have a look for it.

EDIT --> Not the exact video I was looking for, but same oil guy. He discusses how oil oxidises even in a sealed bottle due to exposure to atmospheric moisture, oil moisture content also increases and the oil's chemical composition degrades. The stuff in your diff has definitely been exposed to atmospheric moisture via the breathers.

Had mine done last year, split the job between my Indy who couldn't do the transfer case and gearbox. So was done by a 4x4 specialist and him, 1 year down the road and all is well.
Was done for a third of the price that JLR charges, I keep all my receipts and have a spreadsheet of everything done to the car, so when I move it on in the future, even though it will be probably 13-15 years, it will have all the documentation with it, when prospective buyers see that, it will show the cars been enthusiastically cared for.

Mine is coming up 10 years old 97000 miles full service history, indy since 4 years old. Gearbox oil and filter done 2 years ago.
now only doing 2-3000 miles a year.
Car is a keeper. Owned from new.
Wondering if it is still worth it or just do oil and filter each year and then fix things that fail. letters not necessarily in the right order
