Hi again, following on from my previous post about my front oil seal getting blown out and the subsequent oil spill.
I replaced the seal as per the instructions 1mm underflush, took the car down the road a few times and the seal pushed out again!
I now have a new oil pump as im out of other ideas.
I have attached pictures because I can't see any good reason why the oil seal can't be pushed all the way back in the recess?
Then rtv round the outer edge?
Im replacing the pump as i suspect the pressure release valve had ceased but i really don't want to have to go in again so if anyone knows why the seal must be fitted so close to the edge please tell me otherwise im pushing that thing all the way home.
