Another deployable steps issue!

Last night my wife came back and said the door is not closing properly. When I took a gander, the drivers step is catching the trim, both back and front of the drivers door. So much so, that the trim has popped away from the door itself!

I’ve tried various fixes but can’t see if someone has had the same issue after a long search.

Wife is out with car at the moment, so will need to take some pics at lunch when she returns.

Have you tried standing on it , full weight might get it to move back into position . 2019 SV AB Dynamic Scafel Grey

Yep tried that but it doesn’t always make it out and when it does, it gets caught on the trim. I’ve used a wood wedge between the trim and the step and that seems to help it out. Also caned a can of HSS 2000 spray on the pins. It seems to be jamming there and not pivoting correctly.

Mine was jammed , bouncing out then straight back . Battered it with the pressure washer and loads of acf50, then put in roof access mode which forces them to lock out deployed , giving better access into the pivots . 2019 SV AB Dynamic Scafel Grey

They all jam if not rigorously maintained a few times a year, but this doesn’t explain why they are coming up higher than they should & catching the trim, so needs further investigation.
As Mr Tee suggests, get the car up like this in Roof Access Mode , and get lots of ACF50 onto all of the pivot points. It’s messy stuff, so use lots of cardboard.
