No,
but if you are dealing with refrigerants it will need to be done by a specialist.

Would suggest talking to a refrigeration service company, as they could de gas the system and re gas it when you have replaced.

Cant see it being to hard a job. If it's the one to sit infront of the rad you might have to remove it to gain access but shouldn't be to hard. Have you looked in Rave to see what's involved? [img]http://www.fuelly.com/driver/rob2529/range-rover[img/]

When I replaced mine, I removed the slam panel and front grill. Saves undoing the viscous fan unit.
Then condensor slides upwards and out of car.

Above your headlights, below your open bonnet, the bonnet "slams" on it Smile

I did post a pic, but I'm sure I posted it in the "What have I done in my FF today" thread, so buried...

Not to bad, an hour (ish) Some fittings to remove, i.e. bonnet cable and air duct.

One of those procedures that you get away with by not following RAVE.

2nd Rich's advice.

4 end bolts, 6 middle support bolts and the slam panel comes off (no need to disconnect the bonnet release cable - just lay the slam panel on the motor. But if you do want to release the cable, there is a connector on the drivers side), 2 plastic caps over the ends of the condenser - that's it IIRC (oh and obviously the AC lines).

All BMW era condensers are the same too - petrol and diesel, so you can go shopping. I'm not sure about the Jag engined RR's. Do Not buy at the stealer's, though! Shocked

That seems quite reasonable.

I got lucky and ebayed a new condenser for $115 - in the US. Unfortunately shipping would've killed any savings so I waited till my next trip to the States and brought it back in my luggage. I had to do a special packaging job, though. If I would've charged myself my regular hourly rate for all that - I could've gone directly to the stealer,,, Rolling Eyes
