folding wing mirrors

my wing mirrors fold in when i press the little button but unfortunately they come straight back out again which is rather annoying. Someone told me to have a look at the limit switches so i dismantled the mirror to find that there arent any, just a couple of worm gears and a little servo motor. Am i correct that this would suggest a fault with the controller? Is this a module that can be replaced?

So the microswitch actually on the mirror housing somewhere? Where? or on the door switch panel? Photos will help? .

What if the mirrors dont work at all. Mine have never folded in since I bought the car a few months ago. I have read a number of posts about sync problems etc. but nothing about the mirrors not working at all. Any ideas anyone? No longer FF owner but still interested. Present car Jaguar XE

First remove the mirror cover using a small but wide blade screwdriver to ping the cover off, then by the hinge part you will see a plastic cover over the micro switch the cover slides off towards you, the common problem is that the steel arm on the micro switch gets bent and does not make when in home postion if you re shape it and before putting cover back on try the operation, if its wrong the mirror will close in then return out imidiatley just play with the arm until you get it right
