Reformed....

would you say its definantly worth buying the upgraded areial, have you noticed the difference with the standard one that comes with the freeview box you got and the one with the booster.

Where in South are you. I pick up signal in london but not all and on the move its quite bad with the normal areial that comes with it. thinking of buying the booster that you have. Range rover td6 54 reg touch screen

I live on the outskirts of Portsmouth, and we dont go fully digital until March next year. When I first installed mine I could not pick up anything unless I was parked on the seafront at Southsea!

So I played around with a few booster aerials until I found one that works.

It still gets the occasional glitches (but then so did the analogue TV) but its much better and it works ok whilst moving. Reformed

Yes, all I then did was tap of the power supply to the freeview box for the booster power supply. You can also get a splitter for it so you can run 2, one on either side, which I considerd but mine works well with just the one on the left side of the car.

I did connect to the standard areial when I was toying around but the picture was hit and miss. I have tinted rear windows so outside you cannot see the ariel. Reformed

Watching this thread closely as I plan to do the same over the next few weeks.
I think Danny is right, we need a proper write up with images so we can follow suit.

My install has now been tidyed up, so theres not to much I can take pictures off.

I might be doing another one later in another Range Rover, So I will take pictures as I go. I could do a write up how I did it but it may be easier with pictures?

Right - plugged in my portable DVD player and got a picture straight away. At least I know its the TV box and no that leads.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll contact the ebay seller for a replacement..!!

Reformed - Where did you pick up your 12v supply. I was just testing and picked up form the other side (drivers rear where the fuses are) but it would due neater to do it all in the left.

Once I get the new box I'd be happy to write it up with Pics as it seems a great upgrade for around £90 Ash

All my wiring is in the entertainment compartment. The previous owner has had a dvd system fitted with screens put in the rear headrest so I basically took the live from that (as I found it was only live with the ignition on), I used the main earth point in there as well for the earth. Reformed
