How about this: http://www.richersounds.com/product/tv---a...47-inch-tv

Whether that one or not I'd highly recommend Richer Sounds, a million times better than any other high street retailer, and more like internet prices. Also their warranty cover is actually worth taking, good cover and reasonable price!

Richer Sounds, and their prices, are pretty good, but if you're going in, be aware that they WILL try and upsell you, whether it's a stand, speakers, cinema or insurance, but they always do it (and it naffs me off!).

If your cable provider can guarantee that the scene would not burst (in terms of the pixels on the screen), for a larger tv panel, then you could opt for anything more than 40 inches. But if they could not give you that guarantee, then you might as well go for a 36inch and enjoy the great viewing advantage.

LED is supposed to give you full color but 3d is not that acceptable yet, considering that you have to purchase special glasses just to see them in full effect.

Im running a SONY 46" LED 3D which seems small compared to the 50" plasma it replaced. The one thing to note is if you can get a smart tv - internet enabled - then do so. I have a My Book network storage under the stairs and can now stream wirelessly to it, great stuff, saves having extra equipment in the living room. Razz 2006 MY Autobiography. With 'toys'

I recently bought a Sony 42" with built in Freeview HD. It is great to watch HD without having anything else plugged in. It also has Ethernet connection to watch stuff like BBC iPlayer etc. and other online content.

I also have a Sony blueray player with built in surround sound. The sub bass speaker is huge and the sound is awesome.

Can I ask what Sony Blueray player you have with surround sound.... Question I too have a Sony 42 inch with Freeview etc and was wanting to purchase a Sony Blueray to go with it...?

I've been looking at the Sony BDV EF200 but can't find many reviews on it....

TIA.... Thumbs Up

Having now bought the Sony BDV EF200, I tried setting it up last night, no HDMI cables or Wireless LAN connector supplied.... Censored

I've ordered some well specced HDMI cables, but was wondering whether I need to order a Sony Wireless LAN connector at £50+ or will any wireless dongle suffice....?

Any recommendations..... Question

TIA.... Thumbs Up

Paulo, don't waste money on high spec hdmi cables, they are a complete waste of money. HDMI transports digital data only, this is then encoded by the tv. Think of it like this, you don't get a better quality of print on your printer by having a £50 cable connecting it to your computer do you?

Regarding the wifi dongle - I priced these up for my Sony tv and decided it was better to use a homeplug set from amazon which was half the price including buying a network switch so that I have wired connection for the kids Nintendo wii, tv, apple tv and blue ray home cinema system. Thumbs Up

-1 regarding the HDMI... my issue is with the quality of the connectors; cheapo cables have poor connectors. Graham

a fuzzy 0 is still a 0 and a fuzzy 1 is a 1.

I played with our scopes and signal generators here in the office with a few different cables and as far as the channel bandwidth/roll off is concerned there's little appreciable difference.

Amazon basics HDMI for about £5 each have reasonable molded connectors. Chances are the cheap stamped on DSPs in most of these Image processing boards are much leakier than the cables.
