Features you'd like on the next generation

There's a few things I'd like to see in the next version:

Proper front LEDs
Flashing rear brakes under heavy braking like Mercedes
Better iPod/iPhone linking, maybe iPad linking somehow
Heated seats on ALL models to be electric and not fan operated - don't think they are as good in the VSE
Better cup holders front and rear - ones that actually work, like the pre 2006 facelift version
Better positioning of power sockets in the front - needs one closer to the front screen for windscreen mounted devices
Sat Nav that you can upload POI's to and update online
Bluetooth audio AND phone connections like in the Evoque
Bluetooth connection to more than one device at a time - with a selector for the primary device.
A TPMS system that works and not so temperamental
Black headlining as no cost option

That's all I can think of right now while I eat my lunch, I know I will have forgotten some, what are your ideas?

Maybe Land Rover will read this and take it on board! Discovery 4 HSE

"windscreen mounted devices"???? Surely the L405 should have anything you need to stick to the windscreen as standard kit, thereby negating the need for blocking your vision with unsightly plastic stick ons... Very Happy

In addition to sorting the heated seats, i would just suggest better seats all round. I'm not that impressed with the current ones which aren't good at anything (other than getting a good position) - I've sat in comfier and they aren't that supportive on twisty roads - also sort out the arm rest, I personally find it more comfortable just flipped up!

In addition, things i've thought of in the past are: (apologies if some of these already exist....)

* Option to have txt messages read over bluetooth - most phones these days have this option via bluetooth headsets and some marks have integrated this into their car kits, but not LR I believe?

* night vision and/or IR cameras front and rear

* wi-fi connection for software/firmware updates via home network

* chilled glovebox or centre cubby storage

*James Bond style ejector seat to remove SWMBO when she starts to kick off or complaining about my driving

I imagine you'll see all the technology and connectivity stuff the Evoque now has, plus a bit more.

Otherwise, a non-bling version (no plastic chrome, mesh grilles, twinkly lights, polished/diamond-cut 22" wheels etc.).

Still think the seats cold be more comfortable and would like to see the new car have much more padding with hopefully the option of massaging seats as well Thumbs Up

South Africa 2014 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Luxor

Latest software upgrade sorted my TPMS's PMS out, so hopefully that is now a reality in the new version, but it would also be useful if the pressures and temps were displayed

Massage seats yes! I find the climate seats are awesome, but I generally use them for cooling
Navigation that works please, and uploadable routes
Hard drive for multimedia - 2Tb should suffice Smile
More stowage space in the front - oddments trays etc - and move the stoopid cup holders from the centre console

Definitely a centre cubby fridge!

A media centre you can reach without leaning over and forward

7 seats!

Full length sunroof

A neater rear bumper where you can't see all the goolies hanging out underneath, but not that bling crap

A slightly louder exhaust on the s/c (just a teeeeeeny bit louder please)

I would imagine an electric tailgate (split!) ought to be standard - the 2012 Sport now has one.

An Evoque-style full-length glass roof would be great (but electrochromic, not with a blind).

A camera over the tow bar so you can reverse onto a tow hitch.

...if there isn't one already.

There is with Vision Assist - Tow Hitch Assist (and Tow Assist if you can't reverse a trailer).
