I was going to ask if it was unusual to have one fail maybe a year and a half after replacing it, but after reading Joe90's post about being on his 3rd in 3 years, I guess it can !

Is it a pot luck thing or do you get what you pay for?
Is there a more reliable manufacturer?

Looking on fleabay they range from £57 to £17, all quoting the correct JGO 000021 part number
Cheers

Paid top dollar for the first one, didn't last a year, currently on a £16 ebay jobby and now a good while on (with a spare in hand at the same price). Can only go on my experience in that they work as long as they work. I think I may have connection issues too, which could have aggravated things. .

Cheers Joe
I saw the £16 on ebay, sometimes you convince yourself that it cant be THAT cheap and still be any good, but I'm gonna give it a go

Very Happy

I've just attempted changing mine over today, got it done, but not sure it is working correctly, turned ignition on and lights to show increased blower will come on when I turn it up but fan doeasnt actually kick in at all. Is it a faulty FSR or maybe something else - prior to this fan was running constantly so fuses were pulled (back in now). Any suggestions before I send the new FSR back?

Cant actually start the car as tomorrow's job is the new fuel pump........ but fan should still come on with the ignition on?

Thanks

Bloody hell, just ordered a new one off ebay, and being keen, I thought, while I'm waiting for it to be delivered, Ill take the old one out so everything is ready to just pop the new one in.

Took the panels off, wiggled the connector block and for some reason I thought I'd power up and just see......

Yep, the fan burst into life , so Im suffering from a loose connector block not an FSR failure

At least I have a spare now !

I'm not sure what is going on with my FSR. I changed it last weekend and all was well with chilly breeze pleasantly dancing on my brow...... but I think today it has packed up again. After a motorway run I am sure the blower is not blowing properly again, and it is getting pretty warm down next to my left leg. Can this be anything but the FSR?
All I can think of is either I got a dud one or could it be that I killed it by switching the recirculation button on for a few minutes after being stuck behind a smoking diesel....?

Gav,

If my experience was anything to go by, Id certainly take the panels off again and wiggle the electrical connector block, mine burst into life again, and I managed to wedge the block in more securely, so far, no probs.
If you go by Joe90s experience, Id get a new one ordered now !
