United Kingdom 2002 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Bonatti Grey

Any idea why the k and n causes this. I presumed that as the airflow wasn't getting measured until after the filter it wouldn't be a problem.

Can anyone suggest a suitable alternative to the k&n. bearing in mind that dude to the front end conversion there's no longer space for the original filter and box. 'Apparantley' - I've never checked under the bonnet of a standard one to compare the differences in space.

Would fitting a cool air system be an option or is best to avoid k and n completely?

Thanks

Might be a shot in the dark but... On Mercedes W140 S Class owners were fitting K&N airfilters and having similar problems. It turned out to be the oil coating on the filters - it was coating the MAF senors and causing the isues. Upon cleaning with degreaser and fitting the correct filters back in the problem never reappears. Thumbs Up

I think you can fit the original type filter still but the k&n types are fitted as they are a straight fit. If you want to fit the originals then the inner wing will need to be cut away as I understand.

I have the k&n fitted and although the engine light can come on sometimes it usually goes out after a day or two. The k&n. does make it sound better when you put your foot down. However try degreasing it and see what happens. 2009 Vogue TDV8 Nara Bronze
