When the current version of WIFE become unresponsive, you need to uninstall and look for an upgrade. Thumbs Up
The MISTRESS add on is generally more hassle.

Was using my sat nav yesterday to go to / from Chester and I like the way it warns 5 miles away of standing traffic, suggests alternative routes to bypass the problems and also via the TMC tells me which roads are closed and how long for. I've got the choice of 2d/3d maps so is there now a fancier 3d display available over the older standard one? As for the voice recognition, I like being able to tell the system what radio frequency to switch to and it seems to work pretty well e.g. 'radio 1 0 4 point 5'. If anything, there are too many verbal options , the list is as long as you're arm. As the guys say, it's got to be a Vogue/ Vogue SE for the extra money. Steve

The thing that bugs me about the (touch screen) satnav is if TMC detects an oncoming problem Mavis (that's what I call her) just blurts out "Do you accept the improved route?" with an on screen message of how many additional miles. But she doesn't show me the route she wants to take.

And, if you don't respond quick enough she dials it into your route! I've found that ignoring her AND the motorway matrix signs and roadside signs in the UK is the best bet. Half the time, the problem is no longer there.

If I end up in traffic, well, its just more time to enjoy the car and watch TV or a DVD so WHO Fricking Cares!??? Discovery 4 HSE

Around here the FFRR is one of the most common cars you see, no one gives them a second glance.

Not sure about TMC on 2002 cars, but if you have the Sat Nav and it shows road works (red icon with man digging) and traffic delays (red icon with car on it) , then you'll have the Trafficmaster system I would assume as it is dynamically updated (via the small aerodynamic aerial on the roof above the tailgate). Steve
