One of the major reasons I'm considering a Range Rover is for the comfort and flexibility of the seats (I've got a really duff back).

Does the comfort level of the seats in a FFRR differ?

I saw a used FFRR advertised with "Sports Seats". They were two-tone and in a 4.2SC.

I'm new to the Range Rover brand and I'd hate to slip up and buy one with firmer seats than I'd like.

How old are you looking at purchasing sir? As Pre 2007my (revised dash) had a couple of choices Vogue Comfort seats being the all time most comfortable in the L322 IMHO and post 2007 there have been quite a few revisions sir...

No such thing as "sport seats" in a Full Fat. Such items are for chavs . . .
The two tone seats were for Vogue SE cars in certain model years - I believe all the first S/C cars were Vogue SE spec.
I've read on here from others what Craig above has just stated - that from 07 MY they (integral headrests) were less comfortable, but can't say from personal experience.
What I can say from my own experience of two 06 MY cars (including my current) is that they are supremely comfortable, and I've had surgery on my back three years ago . . .
Wish I could say the same of the awful Audi A3 we've just bought for SWMBO - thankfully I don't have to drive it as I've got my FF

Pre 2007 I should think. I'm aiming at 2005/06 to get the touch-screen and logic 7. Oh, and that 0.7sec 0-62 advantage on the 4.4V8.

The earlier cars had the seats from the BMW 7 Series. Says it all to me. Much better than the later ones and had more adjustment. Don't think you can adjust the top of the seat back independently on the later cars.

I too had spinal surgery in 2012 and sitting on anything even slightly firm impacts on my wellbeing in many ways.
I had to sell my immaculate Vito V6 Dualiner because the seats were incredibly uncomfortable. Shame, I loved that bus and what a flyer it was if the need ever arose.

I actually don't like the two-tone seats, they remind me of spats (shoes).
The cream or preferably blue seats are my preferred choice.

Thats because the H&S bofs deemed the airbag was better in the seat then in the door sir...

Ah....... So you can be more comfortable or safer, depending what year car you have.

That's ongoing safety progress since 2002. No bad thing really.

I don't feel the seat back articulation is a necessity - the 11MY seats I have are supremely comfortable and very adjustable, and these are, I believe the same as the 07MY seats except of higher leather quality.

Interestingly seat back articulation has made a reappearance for 14MY in the L405 for the first time since 06MY. I assume they've got a workaround on the airbag!

I have a 2005 Vogue that has done 98k and the seats are awesome. Fantastic comfort, very adjustable in most areas that i need, the arm rest helps and the steering wheel adjustment ticks the last box.
Im a big bloke - broad and the seats cope extremely well. also found the little round 4 position button that does the lumbar areas, top half of seat is brilliant and the headrest just does what it says on the tin.
Mine are blue leather, heated ,,,,, nothing more to add to such great seats.

Got a 2005 with the multi positional Oxford leather seats and a duff back, Drive regularly 12hrs to middle of France with no problems except the gearbox! Very comfortable vehicle you shouldn't have any problems. Mine was a blue one!

I've heard the comment that the BMW era seats are the best, but I haven't noticed. I test drive a number of the BMW ear FFRR before getting an 2008. ALL the FFRR seats are excellent. The most comfortable I've experienced.

The early cars inc the 2005 model years will all have the earlier bmw seats which have more adjustment and are reputed to be more comfortable, but to be fair, none of the rr seats are ever going to be uncomfortable.......

Try a few and see how you feel.......
