No beeps from rar of car when caravan attached

I have changed the wiring from a 7 pin socket to a 13pin euro plug using a proper wiring loom from Land Rover and removing a generic wiring loom since doing this there is no beeping when the indicators are activated as it did on the generic loom, is this correct or have i missed something on the installation on the proper loom?

Any help will be great

Aftermarket looms often contain a buzzer whereas the factory one does not. As long as you have the green trace light on the dash everything's OK

The wiring relay in the boot on generic stuff is what beeps, if your new stuff is wired in ok you should have a green trailer light on the dash, the on board electronics will then warn if bulbs have failed. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

As others have said, you don't get the beeping as you have the telltale on the dash. The proper way that it should work. Smile

When I first read your post, I thought you meant from the PDC, which of course should not work on rear when caravan attached.

Tell tail on the dash????????
All mine does is make the indicators go into a fit if theres a bulb out on the trailer, and or bong me to death with the screen of doom 'Check Trailer Lights'. I do however get the suspension hight lock on, and you can't over ride it. Oh and my reversing sensors in the rear get knocked out, but the rain can do that too Sad Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

It all depends on how your trailer setup is set in the ccf.

Mine lets me change height but does indeed knock out the rear sensors Smile

You should get a light on the dash in green that is a picture of a trailer, looks like a Stanley trailer to me! Not sure what it's like on the 2010>models though FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

I don't get the trailer light, and having read the destructions there is no reference to the little green trailer, I will have to delve deeper into this. It does every thing that is listed, and I've had no problems, I wonder if its a plug'n'play thing, and the light gets enabled at the stealers. Did you have yours programed at the stealers or is it a plug'n'play? Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

Sorry if I made things more confusing Paul, I don't think our early cars have the green tell tale, its the later ones I believe, like philmc79 has.

Never towed with an early one, but saw a mate with a later car, and his had it I'm sure.

Does that mean that I should stop looking for it? Confused I was beginning to think that it lived in the sump, because I couldn't find it any were else Laughing
So I have to look in the rear view mirror to see if I have a trailer on board then Rolling with laughter Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

Trailer. Warning light

Hi on 2006 model. There is a green light in dash panel that comes on when you plug trailer in just stays on to let you know trailer plug is attached. Earlier car the light flashed with indicators . Cars have. Landrover wiring kit fitted
