Is that done under warranty? Is this a recall that needs to be done or just those complaining about noisy tappets? Mine seems OK.

Even out of warranty, if it's a recall it should be done free of charge.

The 5.0 is direct injection and like all DI petrol engines they sound a bit diesel like with a faint rattle at tick over speeds. The 4.2 s/c sounded better as it wasn't DI.

I agree. I just purchased 2011 RR supercharged with 67000 miles,I noticed the noise at startup. I had it inspect a Land Rover dealer. They confirmed the supercharger tensioner spring rattle. That's fixed, now the chain tensioner is next? I wonder if its worth the expense or just live with it? Anyone else with the same problems?

I just fixed mine. Timing chain tool set for sale. PM me.

Try running on Super unleaded as this does make a difference too.

Mine went back in and they traced a little rattling to the supercharger pulleys that apparently were not lined up 100% which they have to be according to the mechanic. If they are off just slightly it will make a rattle. I also use 91 octane premium Non-ethanol which we are fortunate enough to have available here. Car runs so much better with it.

Hi NMJ,

It would normally be 93 or 94 at sea level but I live at 6,000 ft so the octane is reduced.
