rear seat removal on a L405?

Hi All

We've had a disaster in the car. A pint of milk has leaked out on the back seat.

Does anyone know how to remove the back and the base (1/3RD side)?

cheers Kiel

If you want to do this yourself, your best bet is to refer to the workshop manuals available
at www.landrovertechinfo.com

You will need to pay a few quid for access depending on how long you need it.

The base can be removed easily by moving a couple of levers to unlock the front of the squab. You need small hands to get to these levers. There are some cables that need detaching before the squab can be removed.

Another option is to pay someone to valet the car carefully.

Seen this 'awful' 405 on another older post. Not sure about it.

Does it belong to a milkman by any chance? Laughing

Anyway, If milk seeps into carpets and underlay, then you will probably need to replace them.

May also seep into soft leather under the seams.

The stink will be there however hard you try to shift it. Happened to me and it was an expensive error.

Now always put liquid dairy prods. into container.

Hope you resolve the aftermath successfully.

Should have added that enzyme based cleaners seemed to work best. Thumbs Up

Thanks Doodle

I seem to have got away regarding the smell

I did give it a scoot with the enzyme stuff but could still have done with getting under the seat to give it a proper blast

cheers Kiel
