If the key is getting worn it takes very little pressure to activate the Lazy Locking, and the key range is massive so easy to do when in the house... happened to mine with the old key, never happened with the new key.....

Merv, first you are lucky it's rain water, it should dry without leaving any deposits on the PCB which causes faults, you will need to get the door panel off and remove the switch panel, leave it in the airing cupboard over night should do it... If you leave it on the water will eventually dry out but it will take a while and could cause lasting damage... plenty of "how to's" on youtube, no special tools required... I'd get the Lazy locking switched off if I were you...
