Changing brake pads on l322 TDV8 3.6

Just wanted to say many thanks to the forum members who have put up such detailed posts about changing the brake pads. Why I have not done this before myself, I do not know. This is very much a job you can do yourself and save hundreds of pounds to boot!

The first wheel took me about an hour, the second about ten minutes once I had figured out how to compress the pistons.

Looks as if changing the discs shouldn't be much of an issue either... Thumbs Up

Yes it is a very easy job.

See link here.

I put suspension in off road setting then using the small rectangular jacking point I was able to get enough lift from my 4 tonne Jack to lift tyre off ground.

Use Jack stands as well.

Be careful with detaching the pad warning sensor. Wires are quite delicate so lift pad out of caliper with writes attached then gently slide out of pad slot.

i changed the rear pads and discs on mine this morning. interesting that the main dealer had said for the last two services that the rear pads needed doing, they still had 1/3rd material on them when i removed them!

Likewise they said the fronts needed looking at, well looking at yes, doing anything with no! scare mongery is good isint it! Cheers
