Many warning signs, all together!

Just been out in the Range (TDV8 MY07, 100k miles), floored it for 5 seconds to clear out soot. Moments later I got a 'bong' followed by a number of warning notices.. Didn't manage to note them all as they came up in quick succession. They included an engine warning, gearbox warning, suspension error, suspension lowered, then went into reduced power mode. I pulled up at a set of traffic lights and it would not accelerate much above tick over revs. Luckily I was a few hundred yards from home, so limped my way there. Switched off, switched back on all warning lights were gone, so I took it for a quick drive round the block, and it went much better than it has before! Shocked bizarre. Any thoughts welcome !

Normally when you get a whole raft of warnings it's low battery voltage related.... had you been driving it far or just around the corner.....which around here can be a few miles Laughing It might be an idea to check the voltage before starting... should be around 12.5 volts, and with the engine running... should be at least 14 volts preferably 14.5 v Thumbs Up Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Alternatively could well be a split intercooler/turbo hose - they are a well documented failure on the 3.6 TDV8 and tend to cause problems when you accelerate hard - usually accompanied by a decent amount of black smoke. Restart the engine & everything is OK until you accelerate hard agin Confused

If those are the symptoms it's an easy fix - they cost about £30 per side & are easy to fit - details here

So what are you saying Alistair? the car doesn't have split turbo hose in it vocabulary, so it lists everything that it can think of that isn't the fault Shocked There are times when I wonder if the Screen of Doom and the Death Bong haven't got built in instant Dealer profit Shocked Rolling with laughter Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... 'Special Operations Off' was the message I got the first time mine went Shocked

Basically, you're right, there is no specific message - I'm not mechanical enough to know what happens, but presumably other sensors recognise something isn't right & you get strange messages.

The black smoke is the give away with the hoses though - you just need to be looking in your mirrors as you accelerate Thumbs Up

Perce, can you do me a favour. Mine is doing the same thing but the car is with the dealer being fixed at a the moment(3 weeks now) so I can't try it on mine.
Start the car and push your brake as if you were standing on it to get some thing out of you back pocket. If it happens when you do this it could be your brake light switch.
Please let me know your findings as the dealer I bought from seems to be at a dead end.
Thanks Dave

Dave,
Tried what you asked, no warnings came up.
Hope they get to the bottom of the issue for you

I had a similar problem shut the car Down all good for a couple of miles then back into limp mode. Bong no throttle suspension dropped terrain response off allsorts flashing up..called Mr aa he had no clue he was checking tyre pressures brake light switch alternator all sorts.. so recovered to my garage on the diagnosis injector 8 malfunction low manifold fuel pressure,, it turned out the fuel Filter had collapsed internally restricting the fuel and the car thought it was an injector fault so shut it all down First rr..I'm loving it at the moment until the bongs kick off..
