Yet another problem caused by split inlet tract or hoses...... Rolling Eyes

I think that that probably caused the dpf fault too, as the engine would have been putting out more smoke than usual which would have clogged the DPF faster. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ˜œ

Final update...

Got back to the dealer in Nantes late Friday morning and the car was ready to go. The new inlet manifold had arrived that morning and already been fitted. The total bill was just over 1,000 euros.

Can't complain about the service provided. The dealer was very responsive and looked after me very well, they even drove me to local eatery whilst I was waiting for my hire car on Thursday. Not sure I'd have got the same service back in the UK

We're now back in the UK and the car ran faultlessly for the 700 mile long return trip.

Final big thanks to Weegie, without his assistance I suspect we'd still be in France.

Also, big thumbs up for this forum. Thanks to all who responded.

Welcome home.
I am sure all 4.4 tdv8 owners can learn from your experiences.
Can you add any pictures of the split manifold? to help us spot early signs of where they split?
How did they clean the DPF?, or did you just burn it clean on the way home?

I'm afraid I don't have any pictures of the split manifold.

The dealer initiated a DPF clean via their diagnostic tool I believe as the DPF warning light wasn't on when I picked the car up and has never reappeared.
