Hard shifting.

Hi
My 03 td6,tranny at 150.000km now, shifts hard from 1 to 2nd at standart 1500-1750rpms.Especially when driving softly with small trottle.
But when changed on sport or manual mode at higher revs it is softer.

Especially after 2100-2200 rpms.
Any ideas?
Should i worry??

I'd get it looked at by a transmission shop, obviously something wrong with it... may get away with just an oil change if you're lucky... There is no adjustment on the box so if that doesn't work they will have to dig deeper, if they know what they are doing they can measure resistance in the valves in the valve block which may indicate an electrical problem...

Good luck Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Pete

That's doubtful to be honest. The issue is with the transmission. If you catch it in time you might get away with a fluid change as Pete said. Failing that you could get the valve block serviced to see if that improves matters. Beyond that it would likely be a replacement tranny and torque converter.

Also worth checking the software is NOT corrupt!

So, i would get a dealer to do a software update first... Then change the fluid & filter Thumbs Up

May also be worth having the 2nd clutch accumulator checked out to make sure that the spring hasn’t broken

Mine had hard shift not long before it toasted altogether, either 1 or 2 broken springs in the accumulater besides quite a few other items including the tc. Best get it checked.
