Change of rims - more rubber now!

Finally got around to fitting my Compomotive 18s - must say the ride's much improved over the stock 20s. Seems quieter, too, but that could be my imagination! Very Happy

'Vinny' kinda looks more 'purposeful' now, don't you think???

Mick

They are 265/60-18 Yokohama Geolander A/T-S.

At 110H, they're fully weight- and speed-rated for the FFRR, which keeps my insurers happy! Rolling Eyes Regards,
Mick

i genuinely believe the fat high profile tyre look will be "in" again in the future , maybe a while though.

G'day Mick
I'm also a fan of the Comps and have them on mine with 265/60/18 Cooper AT3s. I didn't know they fitted the facelift tdv8s. I would go a different tyre next time.

I assume yours is a 3.6? Did you do any mods to the calipers? ______________________________

MY10 has the 3.6 and twin piston floating calipers, same as used on the 3.0 D4 and the na 5.0 MY11/12 available in Oz so Compomotives fit. They are locally (for me) owner-certified legal modifications to replace the 6-pot Brembos on my 4.4 TDV8 because the na 5.0 has them as standard.

None at all - fitted okay over the stock sliding calliper (as they also do with the 4-pot Brembo set-up).

The rears were a LOT tighter - I actually had to wire brush the callipers a bit, to remove the built-up surface crud ... Regards,
Mick

Your comment about Compomotives on the rear being a tight fit is interesting because standard 18" D4 rims fit my MY12 rears with about 3mm clearance.

Strange! But then again, mine is a pre-pro model, so may have some slightly different parts to standard. Regards,
Mick

Graeme, are you saying D4 calipers are suitable for the 4.4 L322, which allow compo 18's? Do the rotors need to be changed?
