Hi, I mounted original deployable steps to our 07 l322 in August 2015, and the steps have worked fine until this winter. Then a strange “squeeze” noise started appearing on the right hand step when extracting and retracting the steps. I therefore disabled the steps for a while, and now our Indy has looked at it. It seems that the right hand step motor is turning an extra 1/2 turn on each operation, causing the noise from the gears inside the right hand step motor.

Do anyone know if it’s possible to reset the BCU/BCM that controls the steps? Is that an option with Gap IID tool?

Gary at FamousFour (where I bought the steps) did speak with LR about this in the beginning of June, but no reply yet. My hope is that there is a way to reset the module that is controlling the step motors, and if that doesn’t work, we have to get the step motors replaced. |
